1Shhh!
It’s A Secret

Legends Gallery continues their extended display of Dr. Seuss’ work to complement the San Diego History Center’s exhibition, “Ingenious! The World of Dr. Seuss.” The Gallery features selections from The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss, an exclusive, authorized collection of limited edition artworks adapted and reproduced from Theodor Seuss Geisel’s original drawings, paintings and sculptures. Geisel created all of the original works from which these limited editions have been adapted, beginning with some of his earliest works dating back to 1927. This historic collection has traveled to museums and galleries across three continents since its inception in 1997. The special exhibit will be available for viewing through the end of 2015. 6Romance On Canvas

La Jolla’s Martin Lawrence Galleries is hosting a rare opportunity to meet modern figurative artist, François Fressinier, on Saturday, January 10, between 7 and 9 p.m. Born in Cognac, France, Fressinier’s process for painting involves a bit of sketching. However, Fressinier takes greater pleasure in being alone in his studio, letting his paintings speak to him and watching them appear progressively and without force. New, original works by the artist are on exhibit in the gallery throughout January. RSVP for the reception at 858.551.1122. Don’t miss the galleries’ live auction on Friday, March 13, where you can choose among original paintings, bronze sculpture, serigraphs, etchings and lithographs. Previews begin at 6:30 p.m. with the live auction starting at 8 p.m. at the Marriott San Diego, 4240 La Jolla Village Dr. in La Jolla.
