We’re always on the lookout for exciting new boutiques, so we were thrilled when Twig & Twill Boutique opened its door at 7734 Herschel Ave! This cute little shop is full of beautiful home accessories and accent pieces that will weave nicely into any décor. Stop in and get inspired by the aesthetics of wood, fabric, and texture.

ARTIST NOTES: RUSTED INDIGO 
San Clemente artist and owner of Rusted Indigo, Kelly Duffy, says there’s nothing better than creating oceans as a full-time job. Her handmade resin pieces take a couple of days to make. “Each wave is a layer of resin that needs a good 24 hours to dry before adding another layer,” Kelly explains.
“The wave effect is created by using a heat gun to gently blow the white resin over the colored portion. The white pigment mixed into the resin creates little cells to make the ocean effect when heated. That’s what makes the epoxy resin look like waves.” These three items are some of the functional art pieces Kelly makes. “I used a mint/seafoam green then blended it into a teal, then blended the teal into a rich blue pigment.” 

We discovered these remarkable pieces at Bliss 101 in Encinitas while doing product-pulls this issue. Check them out, along with the work of many other artists, photographers, and jewelers at Bliss 101 on South Coast Highway 101.
