Sweet Paper’s new owner shares her vision
Last year, Karly Matzen became the owner of Sweet Paper, the stationery and gift boutique in La Jolla that specializes in custom wedding invitations, personalized stationery, business cards, greeting cards, and locally inspired gifts. Karly has always had a passion for art, photography, and stationery.
As a native of a New Jersey beach town and a former resident of Lake Tahoe for 8 years, Karly also has a passion for giving back to her community. While in Tahoe, Karly worked hard to fund local after school programs for art supplies and served as Event Coordinator for Zawadish, a nonprofit that helps Kenyan women fund their livelihoods.
Besides an impressive selection of fine printed products available in store, Sweet Paper also creates custom, one-of-a-kind designs. “I feel right at home in La Jolla. It’s amazing to be able to share in the special moments in their lives—be it a new baby, birthday, or wedding announcement.” Karly says.
The shop is an inviting place filled with natural light, perfect for brainstorming and creativity.
“I often feature new special or seasonal items,” Karly says. “Whether it is a journal, a plant, or candle, customers can always count on Sweet Paper to provide great gift options. The possibilities are endless here.”
Karly has plans for workshops and pop-up parties throughout the year. This fall, Karly has plans to partner with local businesses and organizations that give back to the La Jolla community.
