VISIONS REALIZED
Four artists who bring what they see to life

VICTORIA MOZGOVAYA
Living Neon Paint
Victoria Mozgovaya was creating brilliant neon paintings on canvas when she decided that her drab wardrobe needed a pick-me-up. She applied her neon paints to a set of hoodies and joggers and almost overnight, she was a fashion designer with a stunning brand of hand painted living neon apparel. Each piece in Victoria’s collections is one-of-a-kind, wearable art.
The paints glow under black lights, adhere to fabric, resist water, and stand up to delicate machine washing. According to Victoria, we all deserve to be seen and her creations start conversations. TIFFANY KYRIA MITCHELL
Acrylic and Glaze
In the eyes of Tiffany Mitchell, art should be something we love to look at. Tiffany creates her artwork in a peaceful environment to capture a Zenlike vibe. She applies acrylic paint and glaze to her canvas in layers to add texture with various elements such as glass beads, texture gel, eggshells, and sea sponges. As a final touch, she often applies a layer of decoupage to add a delightful sheen. Tiffany creates many large custom pieces, but we think her smaller pieces (like those currently on display at Be Boutique) are equally enchanting. KAREN JENKINS
Acrylic Landscapes and Abstracts
Award-winning artist Karen Jenkins is also the owner of Village Consignment in Solana Beach. To her customers’ delight, she often works on her paintings in the shop. Karen says that the landscapes come mostly by accident. At the end of a painting session, she scrapes the extra paint with her pallet and transfers it, “like icing on a cake”, to a fresh canvas. When she returns the next day, she studies the transferred glob of paint, which inspires her to start a new painting. SHEILA COMBE
Gemstone Design
As co-owner of La Jolla’s Bower Jewelers, Sheila Combe is always on the lookout for beautiful gems which can be crafted into beautiful custom jewelry. The Tucson Gem, Mineral, & Fossil Show is Sheila’s favorite resource. There, she is drawn to rare gemstones, including meteorite, moonstone, star ruby, and decayed coral. Sheila studies the stone for a while before she decides whether it should become a ring, necklace, bracelet, or the accent of a clasp, or toggle. Each handcrafted piece is a unique work of art.
