Blue Apparel makes everyday a beach day

Inspired by the beauty of the ocean, which lies a couple blocks beyond its door, family-owned Blue Apparel is a high-end resort wear boutique featuring everyday casual wear with a stylish twist.

The shop’s fresh, beachy merchandise is carefully selected by Owner Gaby Guevara, who has an amazing gift for knowing what shoppers like. The cozy shop, located on Prospect Street, is a treasure trove of high quality La Jolla T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, handmade jewelry, and original items.

“We look for designs that are colorful and unique; trends are always changing in resort wear and we like to keep up with them. The garments we choose are meant to last longer. We focus mainly on quality,” Gaby explains. “For example, most of the T-shirts we sell are 100% ringspun cotton that are garment dyed, which means they have been dyed after they were cut and sewn. They also have been washed and preshrunk. This is important because it ensures that the garment will last during a wash and the size will remain constant.”

Blue Apparel was founded by Gaby’s brother and sister-in-law ten years ago to offer the La Jolla community a T-shirt store focusing on unique, quality designs.

“We love La Jolla!” Gaby says. “We want to make Blue Apparel the number one place visitors go to buy souvenirs for family and friends, but also a shop where locals know they can find special gifts and keepsakes from the place they call home.”
